Faith

Having faith is more than trusting that there is something greater than your obstacles. To have faith in yourself first, will drive you forward to get where you want to be in life. Realizing that there is something greater guiding you can establish confidence that you are not alone, and will propel you to empower yourself every day. Faith can make the impossible, possible. We all have an instance in our life where we were backed up against the wall, yet against all the odds we overcame. Those are the moments to draw strength and faith from when the darkness creeps in causing dysfunction and overwhelm. Challenge yourself every day to trust that faith in yourself, and you will ignite a power within you to set the framework for your success.
What is Faith?
  • I think we are going to change up the name of this program to “Mindset Mastery” because it goes beyond just a Monday thing and is about mastering your thoughts, and our intentions; realizing the mindset needs to be recalibrated daily.
  • You could have a great, productive day and within seconds it can go the other way. Being able to go back to our habits, to our patterns, what it takes to win; is vital. One of the things that have propelled me forward is my ability to have faith.
  • I don't want to go into this conversation with the impression that I am imposing any of my beliefs, but I do want to challenge your mind, and if you're in the same place, it can be a great conversation.
  • Faith and realizing what faith can do for you and the framework it can set for your life is vital to get what you want. It's realizing that maybe there is something greater than you during those dark moments.
  • Webster's dictionary defines faith as 1. The complete trust or confidence in someone or something 2. A strong belief in God or the doctrines of religion, based a spiritual apprehension rather than proof. It goes on to say: a system of religious belief and a stronger held belief or system.
  • From the beginning, one of the things that stuck out to me was complete trust or confidence in someone or something, and I started looking into other dictionaries of where faith could be defined differently in regards to having faith in ourselves. Faith can be a foundation of what we feel we can accomplish.
  • Every definition I read had to do with someone or something else. I would have loved to have read, complete faith in self, but I didn't get that. So we are going to talk about faith in self and also faith in something greater.
Faith in Self
  • For me faith gives me a framework to be good, to do good and to have a minimum standard for what I realize life should be and how I treat other people. How I should come into my marriage, and show up in my life in general. It allows me to show compassion and to treat people the right way.
  • Faith is believing that whatever you are going after will happen. The darkest moments in my life have been when there is a pattern of a lack of faith. Not believing in myself of that there is something greater watching over me. The darkest moments were when I had a lack thereof and no basis or foundation for my marriage, my vows. I had no faith, no framework, nothing out there bigger than me causing me to realize I was outside of those parameters.
  • When you are in the dark moments, sometimes we ooze the lack of faith in ourselves, and that is why we are stuck there. As my business was imploding, owing millions of dollars to our debtors; I realized I had to keep a positive mindset. I had to realize in those moments I wasn't good enough to solve my problems.
  • What happens when you don't have faith? For the most part, we all believe we can accomplish things in our lives, having faith in self. In the dark moments, we believe the problem is greater than us that is why we are stuck there. There is something within us that causes us to lose faith in ourselves.
  • The reason we are stuck in those dark moments and cannot solve our problems, getting to a place of desperation, is because having faith in ourselves has its limitations. If we don't believe there is something greater than us in those dark moments, it's really hard to get out.
  • When dysfunction reigned supreme in my life, I had to have an accountability partner. Belief in something greater than myself allowed me to believe and to think positively that my situation was only temporary. For some, you can get stuck into that place for years, just as I was. I refused to operate life; I thought I was the epitome of solutions. I have to believe there is someone greater than me, watching over me and guidelines I have to live by how I show up as a father, as a human being, as a businessman. That's what drives me, understanding that faith is my accountability partner, to be good and to do good. When you don't believe it, accountability goes out the window, and we start to do more and more dysfunctional things.
  • It drives dysfunction; vices, infidelity, despair, and dysfunction in the home, lack of finances can create an even bigger mess. In those dark moments, I lost faith, stopped believing that there was something greater and setting that framework. It didn't just happen overnight; it takes patterns and habits: good behaviors or bad ones.
The Power of Conviction
  • Everything I have in my life is because of the faith I have in myself; I did the work, I woke up every morning. I also realize that there is something greater watching over me as well reminding me to be a good person and show up powerfully. I have been in too many instances, including fighting for my life where I knew there was something greater at work. That belief drives me and gets me up in the morning, and it gives me positive thoughts to motivate me.
  • Yes, you have to do the work and a strong conviction of faith in yourself; you reinforce those convictions by doing the right things and being guided by something greater. If it comes down to just us, then we are there, at the top; why strive towards anything greater if we are already there.
  • When you have been overwhelmed, alone in those dark moments, if you look back there was faith in something greater looking over you; reinforced with the fact that you have faith in yourself. That drove the dark moments in my life; they were created by the lack thereof not realizing that I was off the path of that framework of doing good and being good. I always remind myself that something is watching over me, that is much greater than I can not fully comprehend but has intervened several times in my life. You will never convince me otherwise.
  • I think everyone has a story of where that happened in your life, and you couldn't explain it. Having faith reignited my marriage, knowing that there was someone greater in me but understanding that it still comes down to me. Faith made the impossible, possible. How was I able to get out of debt? Settle our lawsuits? Get everything squared away with the IRS and my creditors? Logically it didn't make sense based on my income against what I owed.
  • Faith made the impossible, possible. I no longer look for faith when things are only dark. Faith is more significant than those things, whatever they may be; I am not talking about religion here. If you only tap into that source when things are dark you need to change those patterns and consider that there is a more effective way, so your dark moments aren't so dark and debilitating and painful.
Faith Redefined
  • Faith for me happens every single day, power in myself and something greater is part of my everyday life. Regardless of my current status, that is when I show appreciation. Faith is present in my life, and that's how you need to get up every day; appreciating what we have that is faith. You may not have everything you want, but the ability to get up with a smile that is faith.
  • Faith will take you where you want to go, but faith alone in something greater will not. That is called a wish, a miracle. Your job is to live up to your end of the bargain which is to do the right things for yourself and to live with integrity and stop lying. Those are your responsibilities. You can't ask for something more significant to get you out if you aren't willing to do the work for yourself.
  • People lose faith because they are unwilling to do there part of the bargain. They feel entitled, you have to do the right things and live the right ways. I challenge you to that. Have that as a foundation for yourself, and I promise you that you will go far. Realize that your situation is just temporary; tough moments and not having money is only temporary. It will not change until you live up to your end of the bargain and you know what those responsibilities are, faith is merely realizing and believing that good things will happen to you. It's only a matter of time.
  • Having faith in yourself in the dark moments isn't enough. Maybe believing you have favor, there is a lesson to be learned and you are going through this for a reason.
  • I want to redefine what faith is to you; make our definition and add to it if you want. Faith is complete trust and confidence in oneself. It is a strong belief to set a framework for our lives and a guideline that is greater than you. That is the definition. My life is drastically different because of that; I did the work, but along the way I had something greater guiding me and reminding me, shining the light when I couldn't see. Let's operate from that place where ever you are at; Your life will become pure fire because you are doing the right things.
  • I don't ever want to bring religion into this. My daughters go to a Christian school, but I never want to shove religion down their throats, I want them to realize there is something bigger at work.
  • Continue to reengage that is the point of this environment. You can try to operate and fight alone, but when you have an army behind you, it seems possible.
